Snarky Puppy is an American instrumental collective led by bassist and composer Michael League, founded in Denton, Texas in 2004. The group blends jazz, funk, R&B and world music across a rotating cast of up to 30 musicians, and has won five Grammy Awards - including Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for Sylva, Culcha Vulcha, Live at the Royal Albert Hall and Empire Central. Their live-in-studio recording approach and relentless touring built a devoted global following over two decades.

    Snarky Puppy released Somni on November 21, 2025 via GroundUP Music - a live orchestral album recorded with the Metropole Orkest and conductor Jules Buckley in Utrecht in January 2025.

    The band launched the Somni World Tour in 2026, covering the USA, Japan and Europe, with European dates running from late August through September 2026.

    Somni was captured live over three nights (January 17-19, 2025) in Utrecht, with the audience seated among the orchestra for the world premiere of new music by Michael League.

    A remixed and remastered edition of the Grammy-winning album Sylva was released on 12" vinyl and digital platforms in 2024.
