Suzanne Vega
A concert by Suzanne Vega, the iconic singer-songwriter known for her introspective lyrics and distinctive voice.
Suzanne Vega is an American singer-songwriter from New York, known for her spare acoustic folk-pop sound and sharply observed, poetic lyrics. She broke through internationally in the mid-1980s with her self-titled debut and the album Solitude Standing (1987), which produced the global hits "Luka" and "Tom's Diner" - the latter's a cappella recording famously served as a test signal during the development of the MP3 format, earning Vega the nickname "The Mother of the MP3". Now ten studio albums deep, she released Flying with Angels in May 2025 - her first record of entirely new songs in over a decade - to widespread critical acclaim.
Additional summer 2026 headline dates were announced for the Flying with Angels Tour, extending the run through July across the UK and continental Europe.
The Flying with Angels Tour launched its European and UK leg in November 2025, opening at the Royal Albert Hall in London on November 3.
Vega released Flying with Angels on May 2, 2025 via Cooking Vinyl - her tenth studio album and first collection of all-new songs since 2014.
Rolling Stone named Flying with Angels one of the best albums of 2025, praising Vega's "knack for lucid reflections and crisp music to match."
The lead single "Rats" from the forthcoming album was released on September 17, 2024, accompanied by an animated video by filmmaker Martha Colburn.
