Voivod
Canadian progressive metal legends Voivod perform in Trier.
Voivod is a Canadian heavy metal band from Jonquière, Québec, active since 1982. Blending thrash and progressive metal with sci-fi storytelling and dissonant, jazz-inflected riffs, they carved out a sound that belongs to no one else - and influenced generations of metal musicians worldwide. Landmark albums like Killing Technology (1987), Dimension Hatröss (1988) and Nothingface (1989) established their reputation, while recent records Synchro Anarchy (2022) and the symphonic live album Symphonique (2026) prove the band is still pushing forward after more than four decades.
Voivod released their first-ever symphonic live album, Symphonique, recorded with the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec on June 4, 2025, via Century Media Records on June 5, 2026.
Voivod announced an extensive 2026 European and UK summer tour and confirmed that a new studio album is currently being recorded alongside the Symphonique mixing sessions.
Music journalist Jeff Wagner's official Voivod biography, Always Moving: The Strange Multiverse of Voivod, was published in November 2025.
Voivod announced development of their first official video game, Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior, created in collaboration with independent developer Chaosmonger Studio.
Voivod won the Juno Award for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year for Synchro Anarchy (2022), their second Juno win overall.
